Analytical Atomic Spectrometry Laboratory

1. Accreditation

The Analytical Laboratory of the Scientific Centre of the VarTech Company was accredited by GOSSTANDART of Russia as technically competent and independent in the area of metal analysis. In different years the Analytical Laboratory was a member of the Association of `ANALYTIKA` and also an active participant of EURACHEM.

2. Metals analysis & development of methods

The method is protected by international patent:

SU1193545A1- Method of determining vanadium.

SU1140015A1- Molybdenum determination method.

3. Device development

Three models of a device highly sensitive to atomic absorption and plasma emission spectrometers, and the associated software application, have been developed to enlarge a functional scope of the spectrometers.

The device increases by two/three orders the sensitivity of plasma emission spectrometers and at the same time determines not only the concentration of elements, but also chemical form elements, which is of high importance for determining the degree of the toxicity of elements.

This device has attracted interest from many leading companies producing analytical atomic spectrometers, such as Perkin-Elmer (USA), Spectro (Germany), Philips (UK), and Jobin-Yvon (France), as well as the Medical Centre of Georgetown University (USA) and the National Institute of Occupational Health in Norway. Testing of our device was conducted jointly with the French company Jobin-Yvon on plasma emission spectrometers produced by Jobin-Ivon. The positive results achieved have been recorded.
